Vital Skills Development is a South African education, training and skills development company headquartered in Mafikeng, North West Province — created to help close the national skills gap and widen access to real opportunity.
Our Story
Born in the North West. Built for the nation.
South Africa’s greatest untapped resource is its people. Yet the gap between the skills our economy needs and the skills our communities can access remains one of the country’s most stubborn challenges — felt most sharply in underserved, peri-urban and rural areas.
Vital Skills Development was established to help change that. From our base in Montshiwa, Mafikeng, we design and deliver learnerships, skills programmes, workplace-based learning, apprenticeship pathways, Recognition of Prior Learning, Adult Education and Training, Skills Development Facilitation, B-BBEE advisory, leadership development and customised in-house training — for employers, government and communities across South Africa.
We are locally rooted and nationally capable: close enough to communities to understand their realities, and structured enough to serve corporates, municipalities, state-owned entities and government departments with confidence.

Our headquarters at 102 Tebogo Teu Street, Montshiwa, Mafikeng keeps us anchored in the North West Province — a province rich in potential and underserved by opportunity. From this base, our delivery model (blended learning, workplace-based programmes and partner facilitation) allows us to serve clients across South Africa.

● ACCREDITATION STATUS
Accreditation applications are currently in progress with the QCTO and the relevant SETAs. While approvals are pending, VSD delivers non-accredited skills programmes, customised in-house training and Skills Development Facilitation (SDF) services — all designed in alignment with national quality standards.
